The NHS Covid vaccine service is offering appointments to all over 65s, carers and pregnant women, with bookings able to be made online or over the phone.
People aged 75 and over, the severely immunosuppressed, and frontline health and care workers have been able to receive a booster dose since 12 September and the offer has now been extended to include more eligible people.
As with previous campaigns, those most at risk are being called forward first, with people able to book in online or through 119 as long as it has been three months since their last dose.
More than 150,000 people in the East Midlands have now booked in for the Covid-19 Autumn Booster vaccine since the programme launched earlier this month.
Rosa Waddingham, Director of Nursing at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, said: “People aged 65 and over, pregnant women and carers are now able to get their Autumn Booster jab. If you are eligible, it is as important to get your next dose, so please do come forward as soon as possible.
“There are plenty of vaccination sites across the city and county and it is quick and easy to book a jab. Our friendly staff are always available to speak to and we would encourage everyone eligible to take up this offer to protect themselves as soon as possible.
“Those who are being invited for a booster dose are more vulnerable to the serious effects of Covid-19 so we want to make sure that this cohort are as protected as possible, so they don’t fall seriously unwell this Winter.”
The public can book an appointment for an Autumn Booster by calling 119 or using the NHS website. Please book an appointment when you are invited to do so.
