NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire would like to express our profound sadness at the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty was a shining example of public service to the nation throughout her entire life and her love and support for the National Health Service and the people who work in it was unwavering.
The service she has displayed with honour, positivity and humility has helped us all through some difficult times and some very happy times, she has been a reassuring presence for more than 70 years.
We were all incredibly honoured to be awarded the George Cross by her Majesty earlier this year and will continue to stand together and mourn during such sad times.
The Queen visited Nottingham on a number of occasions, opening our very own Queen’s Medical Centre on 28 July 1977.
We offer our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all of the Queen’s family and loved ones.
