Coronavirus Vaccinations

Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are safe and effective and have been proven to reduce hospitalisations and severe illness. They give you the best protection against COVID-19.

Seasonal COVID-19 vaccines

You can no longer book a spring COVID-19 vaccination online or by calling NHS 119.

You may be able to get a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine this autumn if you’re at increased risk from COVID-19 or depending on your age.

How to get a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine

When they’re available, there will be different ways to get a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine:

  • booking online
  • going to a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination site
  • through a local NHS service, such as a GP surgery
  • through your care home

Additional vaccines for people with a severely weakened immune system

If you have a health condition or treatment that severely weakens your immune system, you may need additional protection before the autumn. This includes anyone aged 6 months and over.

Your GP or specialist will assess whether you need an additional vaccine. They will make a referral and advise on when to get vaccinated around your planned treatment. They should help you find a local appointment. Speak to your GP or specialist for more information.
