This page shows real examples of co-production work which has taken place locally, these are a good place to start if you are not familiar with co-production and are unsure what a co-production approach could look like.

Co‑production is about working with people, not doing things to or for them. When people with lived experience are equal partners, it leads to better decisions, better services and better outcomes.

The My Life Choices film brings this to life. Created with members of the My Life Choices strategic co‑production group, it shares personal stories that show the real impact co‑production and personalised care can have on people’s lives. It demonstrates a shift in power, where what matters to people shapes how health and care is planned, delivered and improved.

Below, you can explore further examples of co‑production in action across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. These case studies show how people with lived experience and system partners are working together to design, deliver and improve services, using co‑production as a meaningful and practical way of working.

  • Series 1 gives insight on how to set up a new co-production group.
  • Series 2 explores what co-production feels like for the people taking part.
  • Series 3 emphasises the importance of closing the loop in co-production.
  • Series 4 revisits some of the co-production projects we explored in series 1, to understand how they have evolved and reflect on any lessons learnt.

Series 2 – The Emotional Impact of Co-production

skills and learnt how to communicate
as a team making this toolkit, it gave

perspective and I also learnt more
about support services for young
people in the area”

Series 3 – Closing the loop
