Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB
On Tuesday, June 11th, the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB Lung Cancer Screening programme, in collaboration with Inhealth, hosted representatives from the Norwegian Directorate of Health, Ministry of Health and Care Services, along with clinicians.
The goal was to showcase the lung cancer screening process happening across the county and the mobile scanning units. The mobile scanning unit is currently located in Sainsbury’s car park at Arnold offering local residents a CT scan should they require one.
The Norwegian team visited the ICB’s head office at Sir John Robinsons House, where they received a presentation detailing the comprehensive pathway, including primary and secondary care involvement, quality assurance, communication and engagement strategies, addressing health inequalities, and smoking cessation initiatives.
This was followed by an on-site visit to Inhealth’s mobile scanning unit conveniently located in a nearby supermarket car park in Arnold, Nottingham. This was a fantastic opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices accumulated over six years since starting the lung cancer screening programme. A huge thank you to InHealth Group for supporting this visit! We hope it helps in the development and implementation of similar programme in Norway.
