With the countdown to the summer bank holiday (Monday 31 August) now on, and schools broken up for the summer holidays, people are being advised to order any repeat prescription items they need ahead of the long weekend.
Pharmacy opening times will change over the bank holiday weekend, which means that people who need medication will need to order their prescriptions in plenty of time.

Dr Dave Briggs, Executive Director of Outcomes (Medical) at NHS Derby and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB cluster, said: “It just takes a couple of minutes to check what medication you have at home and order any repeat prescriptions you need via the NHS App, you can also change your nominated pharmacy if you are going to be away from home over the break.
“Getting repeat prescriptions requested in plenty of time helps our busy pharmacy colleagues manage demand and ensure everyone gets their medication ahead of the bank holiday.”
