NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has been informed about a potential change in ownership of the parent company of six GP practices in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Whilst no change has taken place yet, NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire would like to reassure patients that if this does go ahead, it will have no direct impact on the way their GP practice operates on a day-to-day basis.
Patients will continue to use the same building to access the same services provided by the same staff.
Operose Health Ltd is in the process of changing ownership to UK-based company, Osprey Midco Limited (the HCRG Care Group). Operose Health is the parent company, with contractors delivering the day-to-day services at the practices on their behalf.
Contractors working for Operose deliver primary care to patients across England, including the six GP Practices in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, which are:
- Balderton Medical Practice, Balderton, Newark
- Broad Oak Medical Practice, Nottingham
- Kirkby Primary Care Centre, Kirkby-in-Ashfield
- Southglade Medical Practice, Bestwood, Nottingham
- The Practice St Albans, Bulwell, Nottingham
- Hickings Lane Medical Centre, Stapleford
All GP practices work under contract to the NHS and, whether owned by GPs or other organisations, they must be able to meet strict standards and regulations that apply to all NHS providers.
What happens next?
NHS North Central London ICB is carrying out due diligence on the new provider to ensure it is eligible to hold a GP contract.
Patients should continue to use their GP services in the same way they do now. They can provide feedback about the proposed changes directly to their GP Practice or to NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire by email to nnicb-nn.patientexperience@nhs.net
