Residents in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are being encouraged to top up their first aid kits and make sure they’ve ordered repeat prescriptions in preparation for the August bank holiday weekend.
Local pharmacies can help you with preparing for the bank holiday, supporting you with self-care for common conditions as well as providing advice on treatments and recommend over the counter medicines which you can buy without a prescription. Pharmacists can help with things like allergies, rashes, insect bites, headaches, earaches and many other ailments which you might have over the Bank Holiday weekend. Some pharmacies will be open during the bank holiday, find your local pharmacy on the NHS England website.
Dr Dave Briggs, Medical Director at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire said, “The NHS is here for you during the bank holiday weekend, but it is important that you make sure you are prepared by picking up any prescriptions and topping up your medicine cabinets in advance.
“Over the Bank Holiday, please choose the right service for your needs and if you are unsure about where to go, please visit NHS 111 online or call 111 and you will be directed to the most appropriate setting for your need.”
