Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB
The health and care system in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire continues to declare a critical incident this weekend and we are continuing to take additional steps to prioritise and maintain safe services for patients.
The critical incident, which was declared on Tuesday evening, was driven by ongoing and increasing pressures on hospital services.
As a result, our services continue to prioritise patients with the highest level of need to ensure that we continue to be able to manage emergency care, and health and care services continue to work together to resolve the situation as soon as possible. Some non-urgent operations, where patients require a stay in hospital, are being postponed prioritising patients with the most urgent clinical need. We regret that it has been necessary to take this step, but it is important that we focus on patients needing urgent and emergency care as a priority. If you are not contacted directly about an operation being postponed, please continue to attend your appointment as usual.
Our teams continue to work exceptionally hard, and we would like to reassure our patients and the public that despite the challenges faced and the changes highlighted, essential services remain fully open for anyone who needs them so if someone requires urgent medical help, they should continue to come forward.
Services remain open through the weekend and continue to prioritise patients with the highest level of need. Patients can access the following services over the weekend to avoid the need to place avoidable demand on ambulance services and Emergency Departments on Monday:
