Our Recent Activity

It’s “15 Steps” season for us… our Neonatal Lead and our SFH Engagement Lead headed to Newark to see the work happening in the antenatal clinics there!

As a part of NUH PROMPT training, we facilitated a session to help professionals understand the importance of communication and the difference good communication can make.

Attended the NUH Annual general meeting listening to NUH and Donna Ockendon talking about maternity and neonatal in Nottingham.

Our Events

Playgroups:

In order to be able to capture the views and experiences of women, birthing people, partners and families it is important that we hold events that are in the community and make it as easy as possible for people to work with us.

This year we have been holding free to attend MNVP Playgroups, including a MNVP Christmas Social, in the north, city and south Nottinghamshire.

The playgroups provide activities for the children, including story time and singing, arts and crafts and toys; whilst giving parents and carers time to give their thoughts and opinions about different aspects of maternity services.

It has proved to be a successful two-way involvement approach. Topics taken along to the playgroups include discussions around access barriers to maternity services, poster and leaflet designs and diabetic letters.

Keep up to date with our playgroup activity by following our social media to see when and where our events will be!

Get Involved

Our MNVP is always looking for staff, partners, and community voices to join in with coproduction opportunities across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Coproduction means working together — service users, staff and community partners — as equal partners to design, review and improve maternity and neonatal services.

There are lots of ways to get involved, depending on your role and interests:

  • Join a working group – contribute your expertise and learn from families’ lived experience while helping shape service improvements.
  • Bring a project to the MNVP – if you’re developing new initiatives, guidelines or resources, MNVP can support you to coproduce with families and ensure their voices are part of the process.
  • Attend listening events and workshops – these are opportunities to hear directly from service users and share your own perspective as part of joint discussions.
  • Link up with the MNVP team – they can help connect you with families and groups who want to be part of improving maternity and neonatal care.
