Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB
It has been confirmed by NHS England that Amanda Sullivan has been appointed as the Chief Executive Designate for Derby and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). The three ICBs have clustered together as part of a national requirement to reform NHS commissioning.
Amanda has 37 years of experience working in the NHS and is currently the Chief Executive of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB. The appointment was made by Chair Designate Dr Kathy McLean and the NHSE Midlands Regional Director Dale Bywater.
Amanda said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as Chief Executive Designate to the cluster, but I want to firstly pay tribute to the incredibly professional way my colleagues across the three ICBs have worked during this unsettling time. In particular, I want to thank Chris Clayton, current CEO of Derby and Derbyshire ICB and Clair Raybould, interim CEO for Lincolnshire ICB, for their commitment to working together during this transition process.
“Although my background is in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, I am committed to focusing my time on the whole cluster area and I am really looking forward to working with colleagues across the patch as we take forward the ambitious programme of reform for the NHS. The NHS Ten-Year Plan signals a shift from an NHS that treats people to one which also seeks to prevent avoidable ill-health, seeks to provide care closer to home, and seeks to fully embrace the digital revolution to bring NHS care into the 21st Century.
“Establishing neighbourhood healthcare is at the heart of our plan, alongside our continued endeavours to improve access to services and reduce waiting times. We are keen to continue our work to understand the needs of our population through better use of available data and through the insight we can gather by talking to communities. We will use this information to prioritise those areas of care which have the greatest impact on health improvement to ensure that the NHS is delivering for local people and is contributing to the reduction in unacceptable health inequalities which we see across our population.”
Dr Kathy McLean, Chair Designate of Derby and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICBs, said: “This is excellent news for our cluster area. Amanda has a wealth of experience in senior leadership, commissioning and system transformation. I am confident she will be the driving force we need to deliver improvements for our population across our area. Her frontline clinical background will also be a key asset as we move forward in delivering neighbourhood health.”
Amanda’s appointment as Chief Executive Designate follows on from the announcement at the beginning of September that Dr Kathy McLean is the Chair Designate for the cluster from 1st October.
